XenServer Integrates PVS-Caching technology to Improve Virtual Desktop Performance

February 2017 - With the release of XenServer 7.1, Citrix introduces PVS-Accelerator, a new feature that integrates PVS-caching technology directly into XenServer host systems, thereby enabling PVS vDisk contents read from storage to be cached both in PVS Server RAM and XenServer RAM and/or local storage (i.e., SSD). By caching vDisk contents in local resources, XenServer host systems can serve as a proxy for virtual PVS Servers, streaming vDisk contents to PVS Target Devices (XenApp Servers and virtual desktops) to dramatically reduce network utilization and PVS Server CPU utilization while simultaneously improving server and desktop performance.
